This Content and Moderation Policy explains how content is reviewed and managed on Ask Quiz Wallah, available at https://ask.quizwallah.com.
Ask Quiz Wallah is part of the Quiz Wallah network, which also includes https://quizwallah.com.
Our goal is to maintain a helpful, accurate, respectful, and safe learning community while allowing users to exchange knowledge and express different viewpoints.
This policy applies to all questions, answers, comments, profiles, usernames, images, links, files, messages, reports, and other material submitted to Ask Quiz Wallah.
1. Our Moderation Principles
We aim to make moderation decisions according to the following principles:
- Safety: Protect users from harm, abuse, fraud, and exploitation.
- Usefulness: Keep discussions educational, relevant, and understandable.
- Respect: Allow disagreement without permitting personal attacks or harassment.
- Accuracy: Reduce demonstrably false or dangerously misleading information.
- Fairness: Consider the content, context, intent, severity, and history of violations.
- Proportionality: Apply actions that reasonably match the nature of the violation.
- Transparency: Explain our rules and provide review options where appropriate.
- Privacy: Avoid unnecessarily disclosing information about reports or enforcement decisions.
We may consider cultural, linguistic, educational, and examination-related context when reviewing content.
2. Responsibility for User Content
Users are responsible for the content they submit.
Publishing content on Ask Quiz Wallah does not mean that Quiz Wallah has verified, approved, endorsed, or adopted it.
Users must ensure that their content:
- Is lawful
- Is relevant to the discussion
- Does not violate another person’s rights
- Does not expose private information
- Is not intentionally false or misleading
- Complies with our Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines
3. How Content May Be Reviewed
Content may be reviewed:
- After a user submits a report
- When automated systems detect a possible violation
- During routine quality or safety reviews
- After a copyright, privacy, or legal complaint
- When suspicious account activity is detected
- When a moderator notices a possible violation
- When an earlier decision is appealed
We are not required to review every submission before or after publication.
The fact that content remains available does not mean that it has been approved or verified.
4. Human and Automated Moderation
We may use a combination of authorised moderators, technical tools, filters, and automated systems to:
- Detect spam and repeated content
- Identify suspicious links or files
- Limit bots and artificial activity
- Detect abusive or prohibited language
- Flag possible privacy or safety risks
- Prioritise reports for review
- Identify vote or engagement manipulation
- Restrict content pending further review
Automated systems can make mistakes. Where appropriate, flagged content may be reviewed by a person before or after action is taken.
Users may request a review of certain decisions as explained below.
5. Content We Encourage
We welcome content that:
- Asks genuine and clearly written questions
- Provides accurate and understandable explanations
- Shows reasoning or calculation steps
- Uses relevant examples
- Identifies and corrects mistakes respectfully
- Cites reliable sources when necessary
- Shares useful educational experience
- Encourages constructive discussion
- Helps students solve similar problems independently

6. Content That May Be Edited or Organised
Moderators may make limited changes to improve readability, searchability, or organisation.
These changes may include:
- Correcting obvious formatting problems
- Removing unnecessary capitalisation
- Improving spacing
- Moving content to a more suitable category
- Adding or removing inaccurate tags
- Clarifying a title without changing its meaning
- Removing greetings, signatures, or unrelated material
- Combining or closing duplicate questions
- Converting an answer into a comment, or a comment into an answer, where technically available
We generally avoid changing the essential meaning of a user’s contribution.
If substantial correction is required, we may ask the user to revise the content or remove it instead.

- Ask the contributor to clarify the statement
- Reduce the visibility of the content
- Close further discussion
- Preserve the content for criticism or educational correction

We may distinguish between an honest mistake, a debatable interpretation, satire, quotation, educational discussion, and deliberate deception.

When a factual or academic error is identified, we may:
- Allow community members to provide a correction
- Request that the author update the content
- Add a moderator note

An answer receiving votes or being marked as accepted does not guarantee that it is correct.

A question may be marked as a duplicate when an existing question already addresses substantially the same issue.
A duplicate question may be:
- Linked to the earlier question
- Closed to new answers
- Merged where technically possible
- Removed if it adds no meaningful value
A question may remain open if it introduces a materially different context, method, examination rule, or updated requirement.
11. Promotional and Commercial Content
Reasonable reference to a relevant educational resource may be allowed when it directly supports an answer.
Promotional content may be restricted when it:
- Is unrelated to the question
- Is repeatedly posted
- Contains misleading claims
- Is submitted mainly to generate traffic
- Promotes an unsafe or unlawful service
- Conceals a commercial relationship
- Directs users to pirated material
- Requests off-platform payment or private contact without a legitimate reason
Quiz Wallah may apply separate rules to official advertising, sponsored content, or approved partnerships.
12. Moderation Actions
Depending on the nature and seriousness of a violation, we may take one or more actions:
| Level | Possible action |

We are not required to apply these actions in a fixed order.
A serious violation may result in immediate suspension or termination without a prior warning.
13. Factors Considered During Enforcement
We may consider:
- The nature and severity of the content
- The likelihood of harm
- Whether the conduct was intentional
- Whether the content was corrected voluntarily
- The user’s history of previous violations
- Whether the activity involved multiple accounts
- Whether minors or vulnerable users were affected
- Whether the user attempted to evade an earlier restriction
