Reporting and Appeals Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This Reporting and Appeals Policy explains how users can report content or conduct on Ask Quiz Wallah, how reports are reviewed, and how affected users may request a review of moderation decisions.

Ask Quiz Wallah is available at https://ask.quizwallah.com and forms part of the Quiz Wallah network, which also includes https://quizwallah.com.

This policy should be read together with our Community Guidelines, User Conduct Policy, Content and Moderation Policy, Terms and Conditions, and Copyright and DMCA Policy.

1. Purpose of Reporting

Reporting helps Quiz Wallah identify content or conduct that may:

  • Harm users
  • Violate platform rules
  • Infringe legal rights
  • Reduce the quality of the community
  • Threaten the security of users or the platform

A report asks us to review something. It does not automatically mean that a violation occurred or that the reported content will be removed.

2. What You Can Report

You may report a question, answer, comment, profile, username, message, image, file, link, or other activity that may involve:

Abuse or Harassment

  • Threats or intimidation
  • Bullying
  • Personal attacks
  • Hateful or discriminatory content
  • Sexual harassment
  • Repeated unwanted contact
  • Encouragement of violence

Spam or Manipulation

  • Repetitive or irrelevant content
  • Unsolicited advertisements
  • Misleading promotions
  • Referral-link spam
  • Fake engagement
  • Vote or ranking manipulation
  • Multiple accounts used deceptively
  • Automatically generated filler

False or Misleading Information

  • Fabricated examination notices
  • Fake job, result, vacancy, or admission information
  • False claims of official authority
  • Intentionally deceptive educational content
  • Dangerous misinformation
  • Guaranteed-selection or guaranteed-result claims

Privacy Violations

  • Phone numbers or private email addresses
  • Full residential addresses
  • Passwords or OTPs
  • Financial or payment information
  • Government identification details
  • Private documents or conversations
  • Personal information about minors
  • Confidential information shared without permission

Copyright or Intellectual-Property Violations

  • Pirated books, courses, PDFs, or videos
  • Copied answers presented as original
  • Unauthorised paid study material
  • Copyrighted images or files used without permission
  • Trademark misuse or impersonation

Examination Misconduct

  • Live-examination answers
  • Leaked or confidential papers
  • Candidate impersonation
  • Methods for bypassing examination security
  • Services intended to facilitate cheating

Safety or Security Threats

  • Malware or phishing links
  • Fraud or scams
  • Attempts to steal accounts
  • Credible threats of harm
  • Exploitation of minors
  • Attempts to damage or disrupt the platform

Other Violations

You may also report content that violates our Community Guidelines, User Conduct Policy, or applicable law.

3. What Should Not Be Reported

Do not report content merely because:

  • You disagree with an opinion
  • Another answer received more votes
  • Your answer was corrected
  • Someone did not accept your answer
  • A moderator asked you to improve your post
  • You personally dislike a user
  • A lawful viewpoint differs from your own

Differences in opinion, interpretation, or solution method are not automatically policy violations.

4. How to Report Content

Use the Report option available on the relevant question, answer, comment, message, or profile.

Select the most accurate reason and provide additional details when requested.

If the Report option is unavailable, or the matter requires supporting documents, email:

Email: support@quizwallah.com
Subject: Content Report

Include:

  • Your name or username
  • Your registered email address, if applicable
  • The exact URL of the reported content or profile
  • The type of violation
  • A clear explanation
  • Relevant screenshots or supporting evidence
  • The date or approximate date of the incident
  • Any immediate safety concern

Do not send your password, OTP, payment PIN, or unrelated sensitive information.

5. Reporting a Private Message

If you are reporting a private message, provide enough context for us to understand the issue.

Do not edit screenshots in a way that changes their meaning. We may review relevant platform records where permitted and reasonably necessary.

If a user is sending unwanted messages, use available blocking or privacy controls in addition to submitting a report.

6. Reporting Privacy Violations

If your personal information has been published without permission, use “Urgent Privacy Report” as the email subject.

Include:

  • The exact URL
  • A description of the private information
  • An explanation of why the information concerns you
  • The action you are requesting
  • Evidence of identity or authority where reasonably necessary

Share only the minimum information required to verify your request.

We may temporarily restrict access to content while reviewing a credible privacy complaint.

7. Reporting Copyright Infringement

Copyright complaints must follow our Copyright and DMCA Policy.

Send a complete notice to:

Email: support@quizwallah.com
Subject: Copyright Infringement Notice

A standard content report may not contain the declarations and ownership information required for a formal copyright notice.

8. Reporting an Immediate Safety Threat

If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service or law-enforcement authority first.

Ask Quiz Wallah is not an emergency-response service and cannot guarantee immediate review.

You may also email:

Email: support@quizwallah.com
Subject: Urgent Safety Report

Include the relevant URL, username, nature of the threat, and any information necessary to understand the immediate risk.

Where permitted or required by law, we may preserve relevant records and cooperate with appropriate authorities.

9. What Happens After a Report

After receiving a report, we may:

  1. Check whether sufficient information has been provided.
  2. Review the reported content and surrounding context.
  3. Examine relevant account or activity records.
  4. Consider the applicable platform policies.
  5. Request additional information.
  6. Take temporary action if there is an immediate risk.
  7. Decide whether a violation occurred.
  8. Apply an appropriate response.
  9. Notify relevant users where reasonably appropriate.
  10. Preserve records where required for security, appeals, or legal compliance.

Not every report will require all these steps.

10. How We Make Decisions

When reviewing a report, we may consider:

  • The content itself
  • The surrounding discussion
  • The apparent intent
  • The actual or potential harm
  • The reliability of supporting evidence
  • Whether the conduct was repeated
  • The user’s previous violation history
  • Whether minors or vulnerable people were involved
  • Whether the information is in the public interest
  • Applicable legal obligations
  • Whether a less restrictive response would be sufficient

We aim to distinguish between honest mistakes, differences of opinion, satire, educational discussion, and deliberate abuse.

11. Possible Outcomes

After reviewing a report, we may:

  • Find no violation and take no action
  • Request clarification or correction
  • Adjust formatting, tags, or categories
  • Add a warning or informational label
  • Close a question or discussion
  • Reduce the visibility of content
  • Remove part or all of the content
  • Limit posting, commenting, voting, or messaging
  • Remove points, badges, ranks, or virtual rewards
  • Issue an account warning
  • Temporarily suspend an account
  • Permanently terminate an account
  • Restrict access across connected Quiz Wallah services
  • Preserve or disclose information where legally required
  • Refer serious unlawful activity to an appropriate authority

A serious violation may result in immediate action without a prior warning.

12. Report Status and Notifications

Where reasonably possible, we may acknowledge that a report has been received or inform the reporter that it has been reviewed.

For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we may not disclose:

  • Private information about another user
  • Internal detection methods
  • Complete account histories
  • Confidential legal requests
  • Details that could create further harm
  • Every action taken against a reported account

A lack of detailed information does not necessarily mean that no action was taken.

13. Review Time

We aim to review valid reports as soon as reasonably possible.

Review time may depend on:

  • The seriousness of the issue
  • The completeness of the report
  • The volume of reports
  • The complexity of the facts
  • The need for specialist, technical, or legal review
  • Whether information is required from another party

Submitting duplicate reports may delay the review process.

14. False or Abusive Reports

The reporting system must be used honestly.

You must not:

  • Submit knowingly false allegations
  • Coordinate mass reports to silence someone
  • Report users as retaliation
  • Alter evidence deceptively
  • Impersonate a rights holder
  • Submit repeated reports without new information
  • Threaten users with false reports
  • Use privacy or copyright procedures to harass others

Misuse of the reporting system may result in warnings, feature restrictions, suspension, or termination.

15. Who May Submit an Appeal?

You may appeal when:

  • Your content has been removed or restricted
  • Your account features have been limited
  • Your account has been suspended or terminated
  • Your points, badges, rank, coins, or rewards have been removed
  • You are directly affected by a moderation decision
  • You believe a report against you was misunderstood

You generally cannot appeal a decision affecting another user unless you are legally authorised to represent that person.

Copyright counter-notifications must follow the separate procedure in our Copyright and DMCA Policy.

16. Grounds for an Appeal

An appeal should explain why the original decision may have been incorrect.

Valid grounds may include:

  • The content was misunderstood
  • Important context was overlooked
  • The wrong policy was applied
  • The content was attributed to the wrong account
  • The decision relied on inaccurate information
  • You had permission to publish the material
  • The restriction was technically applied in error
  • New and relevant evidence is available
  • The enforcement action was disproportionate

Simply disagreeing with a rule is not normally sufficient grounds for an appeal.

17. How to Submit an Appeal

Email:

Email: support@quizwallah.com
Subject: Moderation Appeal

Include:

  • Your full name
  • Your username
  • Your registered email address
  • The relevant content or profile URL
  • The date or approximate date of the decision
  • The notification or reason you received
  • A clear explanation of why the decision should be reviewed
  • Any new or supporting evidence
  • The outcome you are requesting

Submit one complete appeal rather than several separate messages.

18. Appeal Review Process

During an appeal, we may:

  • Review the original content and surrounding context
  • Examine the reason for the initial action
  • Consider new evidence
  • Review relevant account history
  • Request clarification
  • Consult technical or legal specialists where necessary
  • Confirm, modify, or reverse the original decision

Where reasonably possible, an appeal may be reviewed by someone other than the person who made the initial decision.

19. Possible Appeal Outcomes

An appeal may result in:

  • The original decision being upheld
  • Content being restored
  • Content being restored with changes or restrictions
  • An account warning being removed
  • A suspension being shortened or lifted
  • Account access being restored
  • Points, badges, or rewards being corrected
  • A different enforcement action being applied
  • A request for additional information
  • Further action if additional violations are discovered

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee restoration.

20. Restrictions During an Appeal

A moderation decision generally remains in effect while an appeal is being reviewed unless we decide otherwise.

Do not create another account, repost removed content, or attempt to bypass a restriction during the appeal process.

Circumventing enforcement may result in additional action.

21. Repeated Appeals

Do not repeatedly appeal the same decision without new information.

We may decline to review additional appeals that:

  • Repeat arguments already considered
  • Contain no new evidence
  • Are abusive or threatening
  • Attempt to delay enforcement
  • Misuse the support process

A further review may be considered when materially new and relevant information becomes available.

22. Confidentiality and Privacy

We handle reports and appeals with reasonable care.

Information may be shared only where necessary to:

  • Investigate the matter
  • Allow an affected user to respond
  • Protect users or the platform
  • Obtain professional advice
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Cooperate with appropriate authorities

We cannot guarantee complete anonymity, particularly where disclosure is required by law or necessary for a fair review.

23. Retention of Reports and Appeals

We may retain reports, appeals, evidence, decisions, and related account records for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Complete the review
  • Prevent repeated abuse
  • Maintain platform security
  • Resolve disputes
  • Enforce our policies
  • Meet legal obligations
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims

Access to these records may be restricted to authorised persons and service providers.

24. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Reporting and Appeals Policy as the community, platform features, risks, and legal requirements change.

The revised policy will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
