Content and Moderation Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This Content and Moderation Policy explains how content is reviewed and managed on Ask Quiz Wallah, available at https://ask.quizwallah.com.

Ask Quiz Wallah is part of the Quiz Wallah network, which also includes https://quizwallah.com.

Our goal is to maintain a helpful, accurate, respectful, and safe learning community while allowing users to exchange knowledge and express different viewpoints.

This policy applies to all questions, answers, comments, profiles, usernames, images, links, files, messages, reports, and other material submitted to Ask Quiz Wallah.

1. Our Moderation Principles

We aim to make moderation decisions according to the following principles:

  • Safety: Protect users from harm, abuse, fraud, and exploitation.
  • Usefulness: Keep discussions educational, relevant, and understandable.
  • Respect: Allow disagreement without permitting personal attacks or harassment.
  • Accuracy: Reduce demonstrably false or dangerously misleading information.
  • Fairness: Consider the content, context, intent, severity, and history of violations.
  • Proportionality: Apply actions that reasonably match the nature of the violation.
  • Transparency: Explain our rules and provide review options where appropriate.
  • Privacy: Avoid unnecessarily disclosing information about reports or enforcement decisions.

We may consider cultural, linguistic, educational, and examination-related context when reviewing content.

2. Responsibility for User Content

Users are responsible for the content they submit.

Publishing content on Ask Quiz Wallah does not mean that Quiz Wallah has verified, approved, endorsed, or adopted it.

Users must ensure that their content:

  • Is lawful
  • Is relevant to the discussion
  • Does not violate another person’s rights
  • Does not expose private information
  • Is not intentionally false or misleading
  • Complies with our Terms and Conditions and Community Guidelines

3. How Content May Be Reviewed

Content may be reviewed:

  • After a user submits a report
  • When automated systems detect a possible violation
  • During routine quality or safety reviews
  • After a copyright, privacy, or legal complaint
  • When suspicious account activity is detected
  • When a moderator notices a possible violation
  • When an earlier decision is appealed

We are not required to review every submission before or after publication.

The fact that content remains available does not mean that it has been approved or verified.

4. Human and Automated Moderation

We may use a combination of authorised moderators, technical tools, filters, and automated systems to:

  • Detect spam and repeated content
  • Identify suspicious links or files
  • Limit bots and artificial activity
  • Detect abusive or prohibited language
  • Flag possible privacy or safety risks
  • Prioritise reports for review
  • Identify vote or engagement manipulation
  • Restrict content pending further review

Automated systems can make mistakes. Where appropriate, flagged content may be reviewed by a person before or after action is taken.

Users may request a review of certain decisions as explained below.

5. Content We Encourage

We welcome content that:

  • Asks genuine and clearly written questions
  • Provides accurate and understandable explanations
  • Shows reasoning or calculation steps
  • Uses relevant examples
  • Identifies and corrects mistakes respectfully
  • Cites reliable sources when necessary
  • Shares useful educational experience
  • Encourages constructive discussion
  • Helps students solve similar problems independently
  • Follows copyright, privacy, and community rules

6. Content That May Be Edited or Organised

Moderators may make limited changes to improve readability, searchability, or organisation.

These changes may include:

  • Correcting obvious formatting problems
  • Removing unnecessary capitalisation
  • Improving spacing
  • Moving content to a more suitable category
  • Adding or removing inaccurate tags
  • Clarifying a title without changing its meaning
  • Removing greetings, signatures, or unrelated material
  • Combining or closing duplicate questions
  • Converting an answer into a comment, or a comment into an answer, where technically available

We generally avoid changing the essential meaning of a user’s contribution.

If substantial correction is required, we may ask the user to revise the content or remove it instead.

7. Content That May Be Restricted or Removed

We may restrict, hide, close, or remove content involving:

Abuse and Harassment

  • Threats or intimidation
  • Bullying or targeted harassment
  • Personal attacks
  • Hateful or discriminatory content
  • Sexual harassment
  • Encouragement of violence
  • Repeated unwanted contact

Dangerous or Unlawful Content

  • Instructions intended to facilitate serious harm
  • Fraud, scams, or impersonation
  • Phishing, malware, or malicious links
  • Illegal transactions or services
  • Exploitation of minors
  • Content prohibited by applicable law
  • Credible threats to a person or institution

Privacy Violations

  • Passwords or OTPs
  • Phone numbers or private email addresses
  • Financial or payment information
  • Full residential addresses
  • Government identification details
  • Private documents or conversations
  • Personal information about a minor
  • Another person’s confidential information published without permission

Copyright and Intellectual-Property Violations

  • Pirated books, courses, PDFs, or software
  • Complete paid test series or study materials
  • Copied articles or explanations presented as original
  • Unauthorised images, videos, or documents
  • Material that violates trademark or other intellectual-property rights

Spam and Manipulation

  • Repetitive or meaningless posts
  • Irrelevant advertising
  • Undisclosed promotional content
  • Referral-link spam
  • Misleading titles
  • Artificially generated filler
  • Vote, follower, point, or ranking manipulation
  • Coordinated reporting intended to target another user
  • Multiple accounts created to influence community activity

Examination Misconduct

  • Answers requested or shared during a live or proctored examination
  • Leaked or confidential examination papers
  • Candidate impersonation services
  • Methods for bypassing examination security
  • Other assistance intended to facilitate cheating

Misleading Information

  • Knowingly false claims
  • Fabricated official notifications
  • False guarantees of selection, marks, employment, or admission
  • Misrepresentation of qualifications or authority
  • Dangerously misleading professional advice
  • Altered documents presented as genuine

Low-Quality or Off-Topic Content

  • Questions without enough information to understand them
  • Answers unrelated to the question
  • Duplicate questions
  • Comments that should be separate questions
  • Content consisting only of an unexplained image or link
  • Excessive self-promotion
  • Discussions unrelated to the platform’s purpose
  • Content in an unsuitable category after repeated warnings

8. Content Requiring Additional Context

Not every difficult, controversial, or incorrect statement must be removed.

Depending on context, we may:

  • Add an informational label
  • Request a reliable source
  • Ask the contributor to clarify the statement
  • Reduce the visibility of the content
  • Close further discussion
  • Preserve the content for criticism or educational correction
  • Remove only the violating portion

We may distinguish between an honest mistake, a debatable interpretation, satire, quotation, educational discussion, and deliberate deception.

9. Corrections and Misinformation

Ask Quiz Wallah contains user-generated educational content, and mistakes may occur.

When a factual or academic error is identified, we may:

  • Allow community members to provide a correction
  • Request that the author update the content
  • Add a moderator note
  • Reduce the visibility of an unsupported answer
  • Remove content that is intentionally or dangerously misleading

An answer receiving votes or being marked as accepted does not guarantee that it is correct.

Users should verify important examination information through the relevant authority’s official notification or website.

10. Duplicate Questions

A question may be marked as a duplicate when an existing question already addresses substantially the same issue.

A duplicate question may be:

  • Linked to the earlier question
  • Closed to new answers
  • Merged where technically possible
  • Removed if it adds no meaningful value

A question may remain open if it introduces a materially different context, method, examination rule, or updated requirement.

11. Promotional and Commercial Content

Reasonable reference to a relevant educational resource may be allowed when it directly supports an answer.

Promotional content may be restricted when it:

  • Is unrelated to the question
  • Is repeatedly posted
  • Contains misleading claims
  • Is submitted mainly to generate traffic
  • Promotes an unsafe or unlawful service
  • Conceals a commercial relationship
  • Directs users to pirated material
  • Requests off-platform payment or private contact without a legitimate reason

Quiz Wallah may apply separate rules to official advertising, sponsored content, or approved partnerships.

12. Moderation Actions

Depending on the nature and seriousness of a violation, we may take one or more actions:

LevelPossible action
Content improvementFormatting correction, tag adjustment, category change, or request for clarification
Limited restrictionWarning label, reduced visibility, comments closed, or question closed
Content enforcementContent hidden, removed, or access to a feature limited

Legal or safety actionPreservation or disclosure of information where required by law, or referral to an appropriate authority

We are not required to apply these actions in a fixed order.

A serious violation may result in immediate suspension or termination without a prior warning.

13. Factors Considered During Enforcement

We may consider:

  • The nature and severity of the content
  • The likelihood of harm
  • Whether the conduct was intentional
  • Whether the content was corrected voluntarily
  • The user’s history of previous violations
  • Whether the activity involved multiple accounts
  • Whether minors or vulnerable users were affected
  • Whether the user attempted to evade an earlier restriction
  • Whether immediate action is required by law or for safety
  • Whether a less restrictive response would adequately address the issue

14. Account-Level Enforcement

Account action may be taken when a user:

  • Repeatedly violates community rules
  • Engages in fraud, harassment, or impersonation
  • Manipulates votes, reports, points, or rankings
  • Creates multiple accounts to bypass restrictions
  • Repeatedly infringes copyright
  • Publishes malicious links or harmful files
  • Threatens users or platform security
  • Uses the platform for unlawful activity
  • Refuses to comply with reasonable safety requirements

Because Ask Quiz Wallah and QuizWallah.com may use a connected account, serious misconduct may affect access across the Quiz Wallah network.

  • Using copyright or privacy complaints to harass others

Misuse of the reporting system may result in account restrictions.

If content appears to contain a credible and immediate threat to someone’s safety, contact the appropriate local emergency service or law-enforcement authority.

You may also report the content to Quiz Wallah, but our moderation system is not a substitute for emergency services.

When permitted or required by law, we may preserve relevant information and cooperate with appropriate authorities.

18. Copyright Reports

Copyright complaints are handled under our Copyright and DMCA Policy.

Send a complete copyright notice to:

Email: support@quizwallah.com

19. Privacy Complaints

If content reveals your personal or confidential information without permission, report it immediately.

Include:

  • The exact URL
  • The information you want reviewed
  • An explanation of why it is private
  • Evidence that the information concerns you, where reasonably necessary

We may ask you to verify your identity before removing or disclosing information relating to an account.

20. Notification of Moderation Decisions

Where reasonably appropriate, we may notify an affected user by:

  • An on-screen notice
  • An account notification
  • An email
  • A note attached to the content
  • A message from a moderator

A notice may identify the relevant policy and action taken.

We may limit the information provided when disclosure could:

  • Harm another person
  • Reveal confidential information
  • Compromise platform security
  • Interfere with an investigation
  • Violate applicable law

21. Appeals

If you believe that your content or account was restricted by mistake, you may request a review.

Send your appeal to:

Email: support@quizwallah.com
Subject: Moderation Appeal

Include:

  • Your username
  • Your registered email address
  • The URL of the affected content, if available
  • The date or approximate date of the action
  • A clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • Any relevant evidence or reliable sources

Do not submit multiple appeals concerning the same decision unless you have new information.

Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that the decision will be reversed.

22. Appeal Outcomes

After reviewing an appeal, we may:

  • Confirm the original decision
  • Modify the restriction
  • Restore the content
  • Restore account access
  • Request additional information
  • Take further action if additional violations are discovered

Where appropriate, we will communicate the outcome using the contact information associated with the account.

23. Content Retention

Removed content may be retained for a limited period when reasonably necessary to:

  • Review an appeal
  • Investigate abuse or security incidents
  • Prevent repeated violations
  • Resolve a copyright or legal complaint
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims

Content preserved for these purposes will not necessarily remain publicly accessible.

24. No Guarantee of Immediate Action

We aim to review valid reports as soon as reasonably possible, but response times may vary according to:

  • The seriousness of the issue
  • The amount of information provided
  • The complexity of the review
  • The number of reports received
  • Whether external legal or technical assistance is required

Submitting the same report repeatedly may delay the review process.

25. Policy Changes

We may update this Content and Moderation Policy as the platform, community, technology, and legal requirements develop.

The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
